Position: Student Internship with Story Works Alaska

Story Works Alaska’s student intern will help us coordinate vital projects, learn about the inner workings of a fast-growing start up organization, run occasional errands, and earn abundant gratitude.  The internship is unpaid and will require a minimum of 8 hours of commitment per week for at least 16 weeks. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.

Organization Description:

Story Works Alaska offers storytelling workshops that engage youth in the art of telling stories. Their stories. Our Anchorage-based program brings volunteer storytellers and story coaches into high school English classrooms to encourage and support students as they develop and ultimately perform their own true, first person stories.  Our state-wide program offers curriculum and support to educators wishing to engage their students in telling and listening to each others’ stories.  We work in partnership with teachers, the Alaska Teen Media Institute, Spirit of Youth, and Arctic Entries and are supported by a dedicated team of over 70 volunteers.  Last year our program reached over 700 Anchorage-area students.  This year, we look forward to reaching even more.
