Student Materials

Lessons, prompts, and all sorts of other materials can be found on our draft student materials page.  Please note that this material is all under construction.  We invite you to use it and modify it as you wish.  But please do share your feedback –and brilliant new versions– with us.

Stories

Whether or not we’re bringing storytellers into your classes, you may wish to have your students listen to recordings. We’ve created this list of recommended recordings from Arctic Entries (a monthly storytelling event in Anchorage). Play these in class, have your students listen at home, or just enjoy them on your own.  And please let us know if you have additional suggestions or comments.

Additionally, The Moth (a national storytelling program) has wonderful audio and video recordings of stories. Click here for a selection of Moth stories for ?classroom listening/?recommended by their Education program?.

Note: Although we at Story Works Alaska are heartily inspired by and grateful for The Moth’s work, we are not affiliated with their program. All credit for these stories goes to The Moth, The Moth Education Program, and their fabulous storytellers.

Please...

Before using the online registration system confirm that your application has been approved and make sure you can attend (or have attended) an orientation session prior to your volunteer date. We will have to decline any unapproved registrations. Thanks for your understanding!

It's cool, I've been approved! (if I haven't, I'm just looking.)

Oops, I need to fill out a volunteer application...
