Free College Essay Workshops

Our next workshop meets on three dates in October 2019:

Saturday, October 5th, 10 am-12 pm;
Location: In the library at Bartlett High School located at 1101 Golden Bear Dr, Anchorage, AK 99504.
Workshop Summary: This three-session workshop will support students as they develop an essay to use in their college or scholarship applications.
Saturday, October 5th, 10am-12pm: Choosing a topic, structuring the essay, and writing strategies.
Saturdays, October 12th and 19th, 10am-12pm: Students bring essay drafts for review and have time to work on revisions. Volunteer writing coaches from Story Works Alaska read essays and offer in-person suggestions and guidance. Note: Computers and printers available on site. However, participants are welcome to bring their own devices.
